In the heart of Kent

Approaching the Knowle along our manicured driveway, you will be captivated by the charm and elegance of our fine Victorian mansion, set in one of the most beautiful and historically interesting locations in Kent (the village of Higham dates back at least to Offa, King of Mercia, in the 8th century).

Under an hour’s drive from Central London and with excellent train links (the station is only a 10-minute walk away), we can accommodate weddings with up to 100 guests, and with capacity for an additional 50 guests in the evening. We have a large carpark, discreetly hidden in our grounds, with ample parking for all your guests.

Our guests frequently comment on how easy it is for people to flow between our many internal and external spaces – the elegant Main Dining Room, the Garden Room adjacent to our Victorian-style Conservatory and Lower Bar, and the Covered Patio and Gardens (including rose and Italianate). Children have more-than-ample space to play (bouncy castles are allowed onsite), and we are also a dog-friendly venue for Weddings.

ON-SITE CATERING

We consider food to be one of the most essential elements of a successful Wedding. All our menus are tailor-made to suit your requirements, with food freshly cooked to order. In addition, our Chefs are always ready to discuss and accommodate to dietary requirements.

The main meal consists of three courses including a sweet trolley for desserts (choose 4 from 6 options for starters and main course).

GETTING-READY ROOM

GET READY IN STYLE, LUXURY AND COMFORT

Our Getting-Ready Room is the perfect space for all your preparations. Located in the centre of the house, this large room is bathed in natural light, with plush furnishings, and Bluetooth stereo / radio.

The room is easily able to accommodate larger bridal parties and is just meters away from a washroom. The Getting-Ready Room is ideal for photos and will make you look absolutely fabulous on your wedding day.

    Traditional Wedding breakfast sit down

    What’s included –

    • Exclusive/sole use of the venue

    • Celebratory drinks to be served after the ceremony – options of Kir Royale, Peach Bellini, Prosecco, bottle of beer & a soft drink
    • A three-course meal prepared by our chef including a sweet trolley of homemade desserts and coffee & tea served
    • A half bottle of house wine per person to be served during dinner (options of Red, White & Rose)

    • A glass of sparkling wine to be served during the speeches

    • A hot & cold Evening buffet for your guests

    • Flowers throughout the venue and Wedding breakfast tables (Flowers are white & cream)

    • Fairy lights throughout the Venue

    • Stay in our Coach House overnight on the night of your Wedding, including complimentary breakfast
    • A ‘Get-Ready’ room: access from 8am on the day of your Wedding

    • Resident DJ for the evening (7pm – midnight) who you can liaise with in advance regarding the style of music etc. Background music throughout the venue until 1am

    • Bar open until 12.30 am.
